Wow..Really doesn't Cut ANYTHING properly

Needless to say that I am Less than Happy...

I had the machine delivered Express in order to get it faster..And Since day 1 this thing has not cut more than a few shapes correctly. Papers are sliding all over the place, tearing with large simple and intricate designs. Yes, i've changed the blades, Watched all the videos, Done pressure tests with my papers, tried 8.5x11, 12x12, 11x17, 12x19 Nothing works well... and not to mention I've wasted a TON of time and Expensive papers. The only thing it's manage to cut is a sheet of 2" squares with ALOT of waste.

As far as I'm concerned this thing was not properly tested before being released to the unsuspecting public..I'm now the proud owner of a large 300$ purple paperweight!

I only hope I can ditch it on Craigslist and recoup some of my losses

Good riddance!

Boy have I been in your shoes! I know exactly how you're feeling and probably even threw those same exact insults at my machine, along with a few tears.

But before you write off your machine, PLEASE contacted Craftwell. Its quite possible your machine was damaged during shipment - mine was and they promptly replaced it and I've been cutting successfully ever since. Not all freight damage is obvious, like smashed side or crushed corners - mine was likely dropped on a flat side...but it was enough to jar my blade trolley into a position where it could sorta cut, but did more tearing then anything else.

So please, please call customer service...they ladies are really great and they genuinely want to help.

Jen is right! This machine is really more of a professional machine than others on the market and it can be tricky getting the hang of it. Your machine very well may have been damaged, and Craftwell will be able to determine that and if it isn't damaged, then they can help get you on the right path to cut away. It can be frustrating, but stick with it! Craftwell does an excellent job and their customer service is top notch, so take advantage of it!

I feel the same, and I am in switerland, and even if they send a new one, to send this one to UK, would cost me a fortune

Vera - have you talked to customer service? We are all trying to help you, but its really something that customer services needs to get involved with. They will even call you so you don't have to pay for the phone call...

Dont even have to call -- customer service answers e-mails right away and will give you some things to try just incase its something that can be avoided. They might ask for pictures or a video of the "shreader" ( thats what I called mine ) , but in the end , they are very committed to keeping you happy and will do whatever they can to make things right

@diane9898 - 'shreader' LOL that's funny! I know its wasn't funny at the time, but you certainly came up with a much less colorful adjective than I did - it gave me a giggle reading your post :)

I am having the same problems! This is not fun!

Melwright,

Contact customer support for assistance, at CS@craftwellusa.com. If you are expericing excessive tearing, be sure to check these things out first:

-Be sure to change your blade to a new unsused blade. The blades that come equipped with the machine may be dull, do to the housing temperatures in warehouses before shipping.
-Make sure you have your grey blade cap cover on, as taking the cap off will increase the pressure of the blade. This should only be done when cutting very dense materials.
-cut on the lowest blade pressure possible, the work your way up.
-add a cardstock stabilizer, to help your paper stay put and avoid shifting during a difficult cut.
-keep your tabs at 1&1.

Again, we recommend contacting customer support for more specific tips, and troubleshooting help.
